Christine Byrne

Partner, Wealth Advisor

Christine brings 20+ years of experience in financial services to her clients. Her diverse background lends itself to offering clients real-life advice under varying financial scenarios. Christine grew up in Massachusetts, went to college in California, and now lives in Maine, with her husband and two sons. Christine likes to garden and is a competent photographer. She has traveled all over Europe and the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.
Fun fact: You may not know that her maiden name is Giannotti. Even though you might call her Christine, she has acquired many nicknames along the way. She will answer to Chris, Chrissie, G, CG, ChrissieG, NGLG, and the Notster.

What sets her apart? An uncanny ability to listen, distill, and present clear alternatives on the spot.

Sarah Halpin

Partner, Wealth Advisor

Sarah joined Back Cove Financial in 2018. Sarah was a partner and Financial Advisor at the Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors for 11 years and at Smith Barney for 10 years. Her professional journey in financial services started in 1986 at Nissho Iwai UK Ltd in London. She has also held positions in UNUM's Retirement Security Division and Prudential Securities. Sarah obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional certificate in 2006. Sarah is an accomplished financial educator and has served as a CFP Board Ambassador for Maine and as a financial contributor to WCSH 6 TV Morning Report. As a teenager, Sarah experienced a family crisis that created financial security challenges. The lessons learned have shaped her life, career and fostered a commitment to financial literacy and to give back to programs that improve the economic health of families and communities. Sarah is appointed by the Governor of Maine to serve as the Chair of the Advisory Council of New Ventures Maine. In 2013 Sarah completed the London marathon and has completed full Ironman competitions in 2014 and 2016. Sarah loves to visit her hometown of London to see her British Premier League soccer team Arsenal!

Jack Zinn

Partner, Wealth Advisor

Jack began his investment career in 1994 as a Financial Advisor with regional firm Legg Mason. In 2001, while at Smith Barney, he formed the Danforth Group. Jack was a Senior Vice President with The Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors for 11 years. Jack has earned the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) through the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Jack has also earned the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) through the College for Financial Planning. Jack is committed to a disciplined and prudent investment process and believes that all clients deserve a fiduciary standard of care. Jack feels that the best part of being a Financial Advisor over the past twenty-five years is getting to know clients and their families and having the opportunity to have a positive impact on their lives. Outside of the investment world, Jack enjoys mountain biking, sailing on Casco Bay and skiing at Sugarloaf. Jack volunteers on the Board of the New England Mountain Bike Association and at Preble Street Resource Center.

Mary Beth Brown

Client Service Administrator

Mary Beth came to Back Cove Financial in October 2008. Her entry into the financial services field coincided with the most volatile markets in recent history, and her learning curve was steep indeed. Fortunately for all of us, she had 20 years of experience in office administration that she could use as her foundation. Fast-forward to today, and Mary Beth is the friendly voice you hear when you call our offices. Her work ethic and diligence are exemplary, and she continues to be invaluable to all of us. When Mary Beth is not running our office, she is running her home as a wife to Jim and mother to Maggie and Bridget. Mary Beth's priority is her family and friends, and her home is a comfortable, welcoming haven to the people in her life. Fun fact: In her spare time, Mary Beth likes to run with the family dog, Olive, work out with kettle bells and continue improving on her sewing skills.

Jolene McClintick

Broker's Assistant

Jolene is an integral part of Back Cove Financial. When on the phone with our clients, she can draw upon her 25 years of operational investment and insurance experience to solve unusual problems. Jolene is also our office manager, a true linchpin in our organization. Jolene is married and has one daughter. She is very active in her church where she leads and organizes prayer for people, ministries and the community. She is also an avid reader and movie buff. Fun fact: Jolene grew up in upstate New York and is a lifelong Yankees fan working for a loyal member of Red Sox Nation!

Sophie Halpin

Client Service Administrator

Sophie began working with Jack Zinn and Sarah Halpin at the Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors in 2018. Prior to this, she worked in non-profit communications and development, helping local environmental groups in South Carolina and Maine gain the media attention, donors, and effective messaging to further their goals. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2014. Sophie looks forward to combining her passion for helping people with her interest in socially responsible investing. She also hopes to educate other young people on key financial topics and support the next generation of investors. Away from the office, Sophie enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and swimming. 

Joel Ouellette

Marketing & Communications Manager

Joel joined Back Cove Financial in 2018 after working in business development for a local retail brand. He has also worked international education; both in a compliance role, and in coordinating teach-abroad programs in Spain and the Dominican Republic. After attending the University of Denver, he spent a year teaching English in France. He volunteers his time as a member of South Portland’s Economic Development Committee. Joel lives in South Portland with his wife and daughter. He is an avid classical guitar player and runner.

Chris Byrne

Director of Operations

Chris’s responsibilities range from capital improvements to developing our tech strategy and business coaching. After earning a degree in Economics from the University of Southern Maine, Chris worked for Commonwealth Financial Network, where he was known throughout the office as the go-to guy for technology. Chris moved back to Maine in 2001 and established his online backup company, ezbackup.com. Persistent wanderlust has led him to travel extensively all over the world. In his spare time, he loves to golf, waterski, and spend time with his kids.
